RECALCULATING

Yes, we are still in Florida, and these last weeks have been nonstop busy for us.  Not that we are driving from one place to another, but we have kept busy.  We enjoyed the Family Motor Coach Association National Rally in Perry, GA, where I presented 3 Attitude Adjustment classes.  I couldn't have done it without my sidekick and lots of able-bodied assistants.
Attitude Adjustment Class - Perry, GA
After we left Perry we headed to Brunswick, GA to a Tiffin Travelers rally at Coastal Georgia RV Resort, and visited friends we had not seen in a couple of years - not only RV friends but St. Simons Island friends.  A trip to that area would not be complete without some delicious Georgia shrimp.

St. Simons Lighthouse - St. Simons Island, GA
Sydney Lanier Bridge - Brunswick, GA
Intercoastal Waterway - Jekyll Island, GA
We returned to Florida Grande where a huge plain wall has been painted with a huge mural in the Activities Room.  The more I painted from atop a 12 foot ladder the bigger the wall got.  The ceiling is about 14 feet and at about halfway through I made an executive decision to stop at the halfway part of the length of the wall.  It was fun painting, but it's more fun when there are a few people around.  We gave the mural the name "RECALCULATING"... you'll understand when you see it.
"RECALCULATING"
If you are in an RV for any time at all something is going to break.  Let's hear an AMEN to that.  Our brand new beautiful toilet went kaput last week.   Luckily we were able to get it repaired at Alliance Coach in Wildwood, FL.  If that wasn't enough, upon our arrival at Alliance our passenger-side front jack sounded like a jackhammer when it was extended.  We returned to Florida Grande until a part is delivered next week.  Just a slight delay in our departure plans and we'll be heading south.  We can't complain since both were still under warranty.
My Sidekick (RV is always on standby)
With the painting behind me (I should say "us" because RV was assisting me along the way), our blog will be written on a more timely basis.  Happy Father's Day to all you fathers, and thank you for reading our blog.

OLD US GOING TO OLD FLORIDA

Getting back "On The Road Again", after such a busy (to be discussed later) and fun winter season,  is exciting - trying to think of what you're going to need for travel is .......
HEY!  We don't have to worry about that!  We are traveling with just about everything on our back - just like the turtle.

Just like a turtle - we carry our home on our back.
Time to go make a sandwich....we're going to be here awhile!
We said goodbyes to many friends until next October.  Our place at Florida Grande Motorcoach Resort in Webster, FL, once again looks like a ghost town except for a few who will stay a while longer.

This is the time of year the interstate and the turnpike are extremely busy for northbound traffic.  Our experience is to avoid I-75 in March and April until the love bugs (we don't love), and snowbirds (we love most of them) are gone.

Our summer plans this year will be different than our past 9 years of fulltiming.  This year, if all goes as planned, we plan to tour Florida.  We'll be visiting OLD FLORIDA,  and enjoy those amazing and beautiful historical and nostalgic towns and places that seem to be disappearing.  We want to visit places like Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Wakulla Springs State Park, Circle B Bar Reserve, Labelle, Wauchula and maybe more, maybe less.   We will be on the lookout for "old".

Old Florida - Lots of beauty
These signs are everywhere in FL - Yikes!

Yes, we know Florida is buggy and can be blistering hot and did I say humid?  We were both born and grew up in Florida and we love everything about it - some things more than others.   So if you have been somewhere that was fun, weird, and you interpret as Old Florida, we'd love to hear about it.  We're pretty excited and look forward to visiting more Florida!
The Golden Isles of Georgia
We have begun our travels and next week we will be at a Tiffin Travelers Rally in Brunswick, GA.  We chose to attend this rally because we enjoy the people who are a part of this group, and we also have an opportunity to visit St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island, where we left footprints in the sand for several years.  We will visit with people who were a special part of our lives, and see many places people save all year long just to spend one week of their vacation.    After the rally we will return to Florida Grande to plan our summer itinerary - this is going to be a milestone year for both of us.
RV THERE YET?
